Studies
The pages in this section set out how other teams have measured and worked around each place an error can enter the comparison Tidemark makes, reading the work of teams who check a satellite's water levels against tide gauges and of the teams who run the gauges.
The Four Error Sources sets the four places an error can enter side by side and closes on what the four have in common. A page of its own then takes each in full.
- The Gauge’s Reading, meaning what a tide gauge itself gets wrong
- The Satellite’s Reading, meaning what its height carries before it reaches a gauge
- The Sensor’s Height, meaning the elevation every height a gauge reports rests on
- The Moving Water, meaning what the water does between the two readings
Methods then sets out what the project computes from the data, and why each step is built the way it is.
